The new military unit will house units of the reconnaissance regiment and the defense forces.

Poland will create a new military unit on the border with Belarus, it will be deployed in the city of Czarna-Bialystok, 35 kilometers from Belarus, the Polish Ministry of Defense reported.

The new military unit will house units of the reconnaissance regiment and the defense forces.

According to the agency, the reason for the deployment of the military unit is hybrid attacks from Russia and Belarus.

“Now we all see what is happening beyond our eastern border. Putin is trying to restore the empire. Whether Russia is white or red, whether it has been Putin’s, Russia has always been the same in its methods, in the perfect attack. Therefore, in response to these threats, we are strengthening the Polish army,” said Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.

Currently, the Polish army has 175 thousand people, while in 2015 there were 95 thousand people.

Recall that in June, the “Wagnerites” made a failed attempt at a coup d’état in Russia. After that, they were allowed to “move” to Belarus.

Poland and Lithuania are considering the possibility of closing rail freight traffic with Belarus and isolating the “Lukashenko regime.”
