This was announced on the air of Public Radio by the military observer of the Defense Express portal Ivan Kirichevsky.
In his opinion, at the start of the offensive operation in the Kupyansk direction, the Russians announced the size of the group at 20,000 soldiers, but now we are talking about 100,000 invaders and 900 tanks.
It is indicative that this is 25% of all manpower that is now in the Russian Ground Forces, and half of all tanks, – said Kirichevsky.
The military observer noted that the intensity of the fighting is so high that the same positions can be crossed several times a day.
The evacuation from Kupyansk does not mean that Russian troops have come very close, but they will intensify shelling of civilian infrastructure. In order to protect the population from Russian guided bombs, people need to be evacuated,” Kirichevsky said.
Recall that the authorities announced the evacuation of the population from 37 settlements of the Kupyansky district. As of August 11, the losses of Russian troops and their mercenaries in Ukraine amount to about 252,780. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders have eliminated at least 580 invaders. In addition, since February 24, 2022, 4,290 occupying tanks have been destroyed in Ukraine.
