The young Ukrainian goalkeeper signed a five-year contract with the champion of Portugal. For him, the Eagles paid approximately 10 million euros. The Pitmen can earn another million in euro as bonuses. On August 10, the official website of Benfica announced the transfer.
In the 2022/23 season, Trubin made 38 appearances in all competitions, keeping clean sheets in 14 of them. He played seven matches for the National Team of Ukraine. At the 2023 U-21 European Championship, he reached the semi-finals with the Blue-Yellows.
Earlier, the media “wooed” Trubin to Inter Milan – the Italians and the Ukrainian seemed to have a verbal agreement on the transition next summer, because in 2024 Trubin was supposed to become a free agent. However, the management of Shakhtar did not like the idea of losing the player for free and the goalkeeper was threatened with being put on the bench.
Recall, the 26-year-old striker of the Ukrainian national team Artem Dovbyk on August 6 moved from Dnipro-1 to the Spanish Girona. The forward, who became the top scorer of the Ukrainian Premier League in the 2022/23 season with 24 goals in 30 matches, signed a five-year contract with the La Liga midfielder. The Catalan club paid approximately 7 million euros for the Ukrainian.
