The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) neutralized a gang of racketeers, which was headed by the current deputy of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council.

In the message of the SBU and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the name of the deputy is not called, however, the media indicate that this is a deputy from the Batkivshchyna VO Dmitry Terzov.
Reketers were taken on the “knocking out” 92 thousand dollars. non-existent debt for a local entrepreneur with whom the deputy has a common business. In addition, at the direction of the deputy, racketeers demanded money from local residents under fictitious pretexts. In case of refusal, psychological pressure, physical violence and death threats were used.
During the next receipt of part of the funds, law enforcement officers detained the deputy in his office. During the search, a large amount of cash in foreign currency, jewelry and property of the victim were seized from the deputy.
The defendant and his accomplice were reported on suspicion. They face a penalty of imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
