Handelsblatt claims that 50 Leopard 1s were purchased from the Belgian company OIP Land Systems by the German concern Rheinmetall.
The German publication Handelsblatt learned that the German company Rheinmetall bought 50 Leopard 1 tanks from the Belgian company OIP Land Systems. He plans to fix them and send them to Ukraine after that.
The German company plans to convert the tanks at the German enterprises of the Dusseldorf Group for use in Ukraine.
It will be remembered that earlier the media said that an unknown buyer bought 50 Leopard 1 battle tanks from Belgium and now plans to transfer them to Kyiv.
As you know, at the end of July, Ukraine received the first ten Leopard 1A5 tanks from Germany. This was announced by the German government.
In total, Germany has promised to transfer more than 100 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine by the end of 2023.
