The Chinese top diplomat noted new progress in strategic coordination and practical cooperation with Moscow since the last trip of the Chinese leader to Moscow in March 2023.
The facts prove that China and Russia are true and reliable friends and good partners. Now the most important task for the parties is to continue to implement the consensus reached by the heads of state and work to continuously develop at a high level the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and China for a new era, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Wang Yi added that Beijing and Moscow should coordinate and promote the “multipolarity of the world and the democratization of international relations.”
On Ukraine, a top diplomat said that China will maintain an “independent and impartial stance” and plans to actively advocate for peace talks and a political solution.
Lavrov said Moscow agreed with China’s position on a “political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis” and welcomed China’s “constructive role.”
Recall that last weekend in Saudi Arabia, the second technical meeting was held to prepare a “peace summit”, which should fix Russia’s defeat in the war, the conditions for reparations and sustainable peace. The meeting was attended by about 40 countries, including the representative of China, who was called a “super breakthrough” by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
After the meeting in Saudi Arabia, the Office of the President announced that Ukraine plans to hold two summits on the “peace formula” presented by Volodymyr Zelensky.
