He told Radio Liberty about this.
The conflict occurred in April of this year in Dnipro, there was a conflict on a language basis with a teacher who, according to the mother of one student, used a non-state language while conducting an online lesson.
The student’s mother reprimanded her. After that, according to the woman, classmates began to poison her child, and she herself was removed from the parental chat. The mother complained to the director of the school and to several authorities. He says that inspections and educational activities at the school were carried out formally.
At the same time, the administration of the institution noted that the situation was clarified, the fact of persecution of the child was not confirmed. At the same time, the principal and the teacher were reprimanded for non-compliance with the language legislation.
According to the language ombudsman, according to the results of state control, the violation was confirmed. The math teacher really used a non-state language, which violated the language legislation. The fine, which she has already paid, is 3400 UAH.
I hope that this incident will be another reminder to the citizens of Ukraine, who perform professional functions in various fields, in particular, education, trade, transport, that it is imperative to comply with the language law. I, as the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, will always stand on the side of the linguistic rights of the citizens of Ukraine, who, in war conditions, demand respect for themselves and their linguistic rights,” said Taras Kremen.
