In Melitopol, the Russians continue to carry out compulsory passportization, and strong pressure is put on the citizens.
Between 60,000 and 70,000 civilians remain in the temporarily Russian-occupied Melitopol, Zaporozhye region. At the same time, the number of Russian military in the city exceeded this number. This was announced on Sunday, July 2, by the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, on the air of the telethon.
He noted that the Russians had built a military base outside the city and were using it as a logistics center.
“People say that there are more Russian military men than civilians. The enemy has chosen Melitopol as their logistics center, and therefore there are many military men,” said Fedorov.
He said the occupiers had started another wave of military registration to mobilize locals to the front. Also, the Russians continue to carry out compulsory passportization of Melitopol residents.
Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, was captured by Russian troops from the very beginning of a massive offensive. Resistance forces operate in Melitopol, local partisans actively assist the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Fedorov previously reported about the next explosions in Melitopol.
