Special Forces detained a man who opened fire at the airport in Chisinau. This was announced by the country’s government on Telegram on Friday, June 30.
It was indicated that the incident occurred after a foreign citizen was refused entry to Moldova.
“While being transported to the sterile zone for his return, he took the weapon from the border guard and wounded two people. The face was neutralized and handcuffed by the special forces that intervened,” the report said.
All flights were temporarily canceled and passengers were evacuated from the airport.
“All measures have been taken to normalize the situation. Law enforcement agencies will continue to ensure public security and order at the airport,” the government added.
