In Ukraine, on Saturday, July 1, the quarantine and the state of emergency were ended due to the 1,193-day pandemic of COVID-19. This was reported by the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, thanks to the introduction of quarantine, it was possible to establish response mechanisms, which were useful during a large-scale war.
According to the Ministry of Health, an audit of the regulatory framework was carried out (in particular, a review of standards in more than 60 laws and 100 orders introduced and adapted to the pandemic). In addition, thanks to WHO recommendations, COVID-19 was transferred from an emergency to a permanent public health problem. This means that COVID-19 will be part of the cases of influenza and SARS recorded every year during the autumn-winter period.
It was noted that vaccinations against COVID-19 will remain free and available. Until the end of 2024, the supply of vaccines under the international COVAX initiative has been confirmed.
Recall that the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Lyashko, said that the coronavirus disease has not disappeared, but is gradually shifting to common seasonal diseases.
