Photos of these shells were shown by analysts from the Ukraine Weapons Tracker. The markings on the ammunition indicate that they were manufactured in 2023.
The Russian Federation could buy from Iran at least 40 thousand shells for 122-mm artillery. The photo shows boxes with markings and new Iranian-made high-explosive fragmentation ammunition for D-30 howitzers.
In early June, the British media released documents showing that Iran was supplying arms to Russia for a war of conquest against Ukraine.
The Sky News channel got acquainted with a possible contract between Tehran and Moscow, according to which Iran sold various types of ammunition to the Russians for more than $1 million.
The 15-page document, dated September 14, 2022, refers to the supply of artillery and tank shells, as well as missiles, to Russia.
The appendix to the contract lists various positions of the agreement, in particular, on the supply of components for 122-mm and 152-mm artillery rounds. One of the pages of the agreement indicates that the aggressor country could purchase at least 40,000 122-mm and 14,000 152-mm shells from Iran.
Ukraine Weapons Tracker also showed photos of 152-mm artillery rounds that Russia receives from foreign ones.
Analysts suggest that these are Chinese-made 1986 shells that were delivered to Iran more than 30 years ago. Judging by the photo and markings on the box, due to its age, the ammunition was repaired in 2018 by the Iranian industry and received new Iranian-made propellant charges. Now they are supplying the Russian army as part of interstate military cooperation between the Russian Federation and Iran.
Yesterday photos also appeared showing “Chinese ammunition” in the possession of Russian troops.
When developed, English is produced and was developed in 1986 – China was obnoxious to this.pic.twitter.com/a5LgigOPn1

In April, The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed Middle Eastern officials, reported that Iran had delivered about 300,000 artillery shells and a million other munitions to Russia over the past six months.
