The Nepalese army discovered the crash site of a Twin Otter passenger plane, which lost communication the previous day. This was announced by army representative Narayan Silwal on Twitter on Monday, May 30th.
“Search and rescue troops found the site of the plane’s crash,” he wrote, and posted a photo of the wreckage, with the plane’s serial number and parts scattered on the side of the mountain, clearly visible.
The plane is owned by private airline Tara Ana. He left the tourist city of Pokhara on Sunday and headed for Jomsom. On board were 16 citizens of Nepal, four of India and two of Germany. Communication with the aircraft was lost 12 minutes after the flight.
According to The Kathmandu Post, the plane crashed into a mountain in northwestern Nepal in the Mustang region and shattered within a radius of 100 meters. Its remains are at an altitude of 4400 meters. At least 14 bodies were found at the site.
