President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Igor Kizim, Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus, from his post. This was reported on the President’s website.

    .

Earlier, Kizim was summoned to Kyiv several times for consultations, but after that he returned to Minsk.

The last time this happened was in April, after Alexander Lukashenko met in Minsk with Pushilin, a head invented by the Russians of the DPR.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry then sharply condemned this meeting as an attempt to legitimize a representative of the Russian occupation administration in Donetsk, “hiding from the Ukrainian investigation for committing serious crimes and being under Ukrainian and international sanctions.”

Lukashenka, who back in 2022 declared that he would de facto recognize the DPR, LPR and the occupation of Crimea, is a close ally of Putin. From the territory of Belarus, Russia attacked Ukraine in February 2022, and in March 2023, the countries agreed that Belarus would host Russian nuclear weapons.

In an interview with European Pravda, Kizim said that he was in Belarus “in a situation of complete blockade.” According to him, the only reason why Kyiv maintains diplomatic relations with Minsk is to help Ukrainian refugees who arrive in Belarus from Russia and try to get home.

During the war, President Zelensky fired several Ukrainian ambassadors abroad.

In particular, in October the post was lost by the Ukrainian ambassador to Kazakhstan, Petr Vrublevsky. This came after Vrublevsky, in an interview with a Kazakhstani blogger, said that Ukrainians are trying to kill more Russians because “the less our children will have to kill.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan then protested to him because of these statements.

In July last year, Andriy Melnyk was fired from the post of Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany. He also made a scandalous statement in an interview, saying that “there is no evidence that Bandera killed hundreds of thousands of Jews.”

His words were severely criticized in Germany and Israel, and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry distanced itself from them, calling them not reflecting the position of the department.
