The European Union will allow Hungary to not comply with restrictions from the 11th package of sanctions against Russia, related to the import of goods and services necessary to maintain the subway in Budapest. On Thursday, June 22, according to Bloomberg, citing the documents.
It is noted that the exemption will apply to cars and trams, protective glass, some types of equipment, valves, telephones and signal equipment – 14 items in total, as well as related technical support.
All this is necessary for the operation of the third line of the Budapest metro. It is serviced by the Russian company Metrowagonmash, which came under US sanctions in May.
