The Pentagon announced an official request from Copenhagen to train Ukrainian pilots. It is currently under review.
The United States has received a request from Danish authorities to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. This was in a briefing on Thursday, June 22, Pentagon spokesman, Air Force Brigadier General Pat Ryder said.
He noted that the leaders in training the Ukrainians on the F-16 are the Netherlands and Denmark.
“I will refer you to them to discuss the timing and possible location of F-16 training. We have received a request from Denmark to support F-16 training, which is expected,” he said.
Ryder added that Denmark’s request is currently being considered.
It was previously reported that the United States and Denmark will discuss the training of Ukrainian pilots.
