The transmission rate of this infection is not as high as the transmission rate of, for example, COVID-19.

“It’s not uncommon for this disease. It’s a disease that’s pretty hard to get. To do this, it’s not enough to talk to someone next to you or shake hands with him, you have to have a pretty long contact, long and close contact, such as this person’s secretions, with blood or some biological material, ”Kuzin said.
He added that this type of interaction usually happens in daily life.
Speaking about the transmission rate of this infection, Kuzin noted that it is not as high as the transmission rate, for example, COVID-19.
The country’s chief sanitary doctor also added that monkeypox is rarely severe.
“The risks of its epidemic spreading around the world are minimal,” he said.
According to him, so far, 171 confirmed cases and 87 suspected cases have been recorded in Europe. A total of 258 cases are under observation. The largest numbers are registered in the UK, Portugal and Spain.
The sanitary doctor noted that today the WHO does not treat the monkeypox situation as an emergency, and it is unlikely to happen in the near future.
At the same time, Kuzin added that people with monkeypox symptoms should definitely contact doctors for clinical diagnosis to begin the epidemiological investigation process.
The first symptoms of monkeypox – fever, headache and muscle aches, as well as back pain. Inflamed lymph nodes. A rash and sore appear on the skin. Depending on the stage of the disease, the skin rash is similar to what happens with chickenpox or syphilis. Nodules, blisters, and purulent formations may occur.
First they appear on the face, and then on other parts of the body – on the arms and legs, for example. In some cases, which became known in May, such rashes in infected individuals appeared in the genital area.
Meanwhile, the WHO does not see the need for mass vaccination of the population against monkeypox. The organization believes that hygiene and safe sexual behavior will help control the spread of the disease.
It was also reported that there was very little chance of spreading monkeypox on the territory of Ukraine. In recent days, 258 cases of monkeypox have been recorded in the world, of which 187 have been confirmed.
