Russia’s war criminal authorities are trying to justify dictator Vladimir Putin’s deportation of children from Ukraine by creating a so-called commission to investigate “crimes by the Ukrainian government” against minors since 2014.

This is stated in the intelligence review of the UK Department of Defense for June 22, published on Twitter.
In particular, on June 20, the State Duma of the Russian Federation voted for the creation of a parliamentary commission to investigate “crimes committed by the Ukrainian authorities against minors in Donbas since 2014.” Thus, the Russian authorities are reacting to the condemnation by the world community of the deportation of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
In all likelihood, the move is both a form of “legal warfare” and part of Russian information operations that use legislation as a weapon to blur the picture of their own egregious actions.
Recall that the facts of the deportation of children formed the basis of the warrant for the arrest of Putin, issued by the International Criminal Court in March 2023. Russian war criminal accused of illegally deporting thousands of children from Ukraine.
