Burbock expressed confidence that Ukraine will become a member of the EU, and called investment in his restoration “strengthening the European internal market, especially regarding clean energy.”
Ukraine needs to stop the nepotism and corruption that has been rampant in the country for decades. Fighting these phenomena will help him become a member of the European Union. This was announced on Wednesday, June 21, by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock, writes DPA.
“Ukraine will definitely become a member of the EU, and it has already achieved significant achievements in reform, but in order to join the EU, it needs to end 30 years of nepotism and corruption,” Burbock said on the sidelines of a conference in London on the restoration of Ukraine.
According to the head of the German Foreign Ministry, Ukraine has already achieved significant success in the field of free media and the reform of the judiciary, but we cannot stop there.
At the same time, Burbock said, there is no doubt that Ukraine will eventually become a member of the EU.
“Our goal is to rebuild Ukraine so that it is suitable for the EU,” he said.
Also Burbock in London announced the allocation of an additional 416 million euros of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom (FCDO) of the United Kingdom signed a memorandum on Energy Partnership between the countries.
Earlier it became known that the European Investment Bank will give Ukraine 100 million euros of loans for restoration, for example, for the repair of municipal or energy infrastructure.
It was also reported that the EIB needs a guarantee to increase support for Ukraine.
