ISW named the areas where the counteroffensive was being conducted

Defenders of Ukraine on Saturday, June 17, continued counteroffensive operations in at least four sectors of the front. This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

According to ISW experts, the Ukrainian military launched local ground strikes in the west and south of the Kremennaya Luhansk region.

Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said Ukrainian forces are continuing counteroffensive operations near Bakhmut, while Russian sources say Ukrainian forces have attacked the northern and southern outskirts of Bakhmut.

The Russian MoD and other Russian sources also claim that Russian forces have repelled a limited Ukrainian ground attack along the Avdiivka-Donetsk line.

According to the institute, the Defense Forces continued counter-offensive operations in the south, southwest and southeast of Velyka Novoselka near the administrative border between the western part of Donetsk and the eastern Zaporozhye regions.

Ukrainian forces also conducted counter-offensive operations southwest and southeast of Orekhov in western Zaporozhye Oblast.

In addition, Malyar said that Ukrainian forces advanced up to two kilometers in some directions in southern Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the air defense forces carried out nine strikes per day on areas of concentration of enemy personnel. Defenders of Ukraine destroyed an enemy anti-aircraft missile system.
