The government is preparing for consideration of a draft law that will ensure English as the language of international communication, the prime minister said.
The government wants to legislate English as the language of international communication. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal.
“Ukraine is open to the world. Parallel to Ukraine’s integration with the EU, we are strengthening cooperation with the international community. At the same time, the demand for people with knowledge of the English language is growing. Education should be more accessible. for Ukrainians. We held a meeting on this issue with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Development and the Ministry of Culture. We are preparing a draft law that, in particular, will consolidate English as the language of international communication. At the same time, it is developing solutions that will make learning English more accessible to everyone,” the message said.
According to Shmyhal, innovation will help establish Ukraine as a regional leader.
“After the victory, we will start a large-scale project for the restoration of Ukraine. We expect the arrival of a number of foreign companies and investors who will develop their business and create jobs. English opens wide access to knowledge, the labor market, information and cultural products, higher wages. These are the benefits that Ukrainians should also receive, which will help establish Ukraine as a regional leader,” added Shmyhal.
Recall that the government of Ukraine developed a bill on the functioning of the English language as the language of international communication in August of last year.
