Due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, 32 objects with chemicals, oil and gasoline were flooded – these are oil refineries, gas stations, thermal power plants and warehouses.

This was reported in Greenpeace. At least 150 tons of motor oil leaked into the water in the early days of the disaster.
This environmental organization said that the consequences of aquatic organisms in the Kakhovka reservoir and the Dnieper River would be enormous. This will have a negative impact on the habitat of fish, birds, amphibians and animals in general, as well as pollute their habitat.
Where the water is now receding, one should expect large-scale pollution by products of the oil refining industry and industrial and household chemicals, said Manfred Santen, a chemist at the German representative office of Greenpeace.
According to him, it is also necessary to study heavy metal pollution. Soils and water bodies can be unsuitable for food production and as sources of drinking water for many years if they are not controlled and properly restored when necessary.
The tragedy at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station does not fall on the Ukrainians, but on the whole world, said eco-activist Greta Thunberg on June 15
This responsibility does not lie with the Ukrainians. This responsibility falls on the rest of the world, which is witnessing these horrific events. And last but not least, Russia, which really does it all. I think that the actions that Russia is taking now and has been doing for a long time are absolutely horrific,” Greta said.
In particular, when asked how she would rate the work of the UN, Greta laughed and stressed that “not very highly.”
