Two weeks ago, Moscow ordered the automatic transfer of data from radiation monitoring sensors located at the industrial site of the Zaporizhzhya Atomka to Ukraine to be stopped. Such actions of the occupiers are a violation of the requirements of nuclear and radiation safety. About this and Head of the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation Oleg Korikov said on June 14 during a briefing.
It is noted that IAEA experts now located on the territory of the ZNPP are forced to photograph or record information from sensors and transmit data to the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Further, this information is loaded into a special system. All IAEA member countries, including Ukraine, already have access to it.
According to Korikov, the invaders by their actions continue to destroy the principles of safety at the nuclear power plant. The situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP can change only if the station is released from Russian occupiers.
Recall that on June 14, the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation stated that the occupiers did not allow the Ukrainian personnel of the ZNPP to transfer power unit No. 5 to the “cold shutdown” state. This is the last unit that is still in the “hot shutdown” mode.
