Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a meeting with the Afghan Foreign Minister in China, announced the accreditation of the first diplomat from the Taliban in Russia. This was reported by Interfax.
“Last month, the first Afghan diplomat, sent by the new authorities, came to Moscow and received accreditation to our ministry,” Lavrov said.
According to him, “Afghanistan’s new administration, in general, manages to keep the state afloat,” and the main obstacle to recognizing the government in Kabul remains “insufficient representation.”
