The head of state noted that some world actors did not dare to come out with clear statements about the next crime of the Russian Federation.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that there is a shameful indifference in the world to some extent to the ecocide and human tragedy that occurred due to the Russian bombing of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. This was stated in the video message of the head of state.
“On some levels in the world there is a shameful indifference to the ecocide and human tragedy caused by the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. When the international organizations that are supposed to protect life are there is no time to form and send a rescue mission to the occupied territory even for a week,” stressed the head of state.
According to him, some international actors are hesitant to come out with clear and strong statements condemning another Russian crime.
“Terrorists are fed only by this weakness, this indifference. It encourages them. And we must overcome it. And we will overcome it. We are forcing and encouraging international support to go to that part of Kherson region where the invaders are now,” Zelensky stressed.
It will be remembered that in recent days, Zelensky has repeatedly criticized the UN and the Red Cross for their inaction in the face of a humanitarian disaster. In particular, Zelensky said that the lack of help to Ukrainians in the territories occupied by the Russians from international organizations after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station is the self-destruction of these structures.
Jeremy Lawrence, a spokesman for the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, reportedly said that the UN Human Rights Office has yet to assess whether the bombing of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station by the Russians was a war crime.
