The aggressor country, together with Iran, is building a plant in the Republic of Tatarstan for the production of “Shaheds”, with which the occupiers destroy civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. This is evidenced by a satellite image released by the White House on Friday, June 9th. This is reported by the publication AP.
White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby noted that the plant is being built in the so-called Alabuga Special Economic Zone, hundreds of kilometers east of Moscow. The preparatory work for the construction was captured on a satellite photo taken in April 2023. The enterprise itself can start operating in 2023.
Iran continues to supply the Russian occupiers with its own-made strike drones across the Caspian Sea from Amirabad in Iran to Makhachkala in Russia, Kirby said. As of May this year, the Russians have received hundreds of Iranian strike UAVs and equipment for their production.
This is a full blown defense partnership that is hurting Ukraine, Iran’s neighbors and the international community, Kirby said, adding that the US will try to disrupt this activity.
Recall, in early May, the Air Force announced that Iran could transfer the production and assembly of strike drones to the territory of Belarus due to sanctions.
