Ukrainian authorities have agreed with the World Bank on a rapid assessment of losses and needs after the disaster.
About 1 billion euros are needed for the restoration of the Kakhovskaya HPP, and about the same amount for related work. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting on Friday, June 9.
The Prime Minister also said that the authorities have agreed with the World Bank on the rapid assessment of damage and needs after the disaster.
“Today, our attention is focused on the south of Ukraine, where a large-scale rescue operation is unfolding after the attack of Russian terrorists on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. From the first hours after the explosion of the dam, we is taking steps to help Ukrainians. The government has allocated a total of UAH 2.4 billion to provide water to residents of Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporozhye and Dnipropetrovsk regions,” added Shmygal.
Recall that on June 6, the Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. 32 settlements were flooded, 2339 people were evacuated.
