The Belgian government is allocating 32.4 million euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine. This decision was taken on June 9 by the Council of Ministers, reports HLN.
“The federal government is buying €32.4 million worth of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was decided by the Council of Ministers on Friday, as Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder said,” the newspaper wrote .
This is 105 mm ammunition, which will be purchased from the Belgian industry and will be delivered soon.
This purchase is part of the fourteenth military aid package that Belgium is providing to Ukraine. The Belgian aid package mentioned for Ukraine in total amounts to 92 million euros.
It was noted that since the beginning of the war, the Belgian Ministry of Defense has supplied Ukraine with weapons and military equipment worth 306 million euros, as well as fuel worth 41 million euros.
In addition, the Belgian army conducted training for 700 Ukrainian servicemen.
Belgium is also part of the “air coalition” for Ukraine, and is involved in training Ukrainian pilots to use F-16 combat aircraft.
It was previously reported that Belgium is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine and will transfer hundreds of military trucks to Ukraine.
