He emphasized that “the absence of some international organizations in the occupied territories – for example, the International Red Cross – is wrong, it is self-destruction.”
The President added that work is continuing at all levels of state and local authorities to rescue as many people as possible from the flooded areas. The evacuation continues.
“Wherever we can get people out of the flood, we are doing it,” the president said and repeated his call that the International Red Cross should help Ukrainians in the Russian-occupied Kherson region.
“The occupiers completely left the people of the left bank part of the Kherson region to the mercy of fate. The disaster is only expanding there for the second day. And this is also a fully conscious choice of the Russian leadership . There is no one in the world today who will not see that Russia is ruled by monsters. Personal inhumans and the biggest disaster on the planet today,” the President insisted.
Zelensky also thanked the military, emergency workers, law enforcement officials and everyone involved in rescuing people.
“I thank every organization, every volunteer, every company that really joined the rescue operation,” the President insisted.
