The UK imposes a ban on the import of gold, cement, timber and rubber from Belarus, banning the supply of dual-use goods to Belarus.
Britain has expanded sanctions against Belarus for the support that Alexander Lukashenko’s regime gives to Russia. This was announced by the British Foreign Office.
According to British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, the new package increases economic pressure on Lukashenka and his regime, which actively supports Russia’s military efforts and ignores Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Britain imposed a ban on the import of gold, cement, timber and rubber from Belarus. London also bans the supply of dual-use goods, industrial equipment and currency to Belarus.
In addition, social networks and Internet providers will restrict access to Belarusian media websites that have fallen under sanctions.
The UK government will also act to deal with those who evade sanctions, including by limiting the funds Belarus can raise, as well as further restricting Belarus’ access to UK financial markets .
More than 100 people and organizations that contributed to or supported the crackdown in Belarus will also be subject to sanctions.
It was previously reported that Poland imposed sanctions against 365 citizens of Belarus.
It will be remembered that the media found out why the EU does not introduce new sanctions against Belarus.
