The Armed Forces of Ukraine is bravely defending the Donbass, protecting the region in the way allowed by the current source of defense.
The situation in the Donbas was “very difficult, as expected” and “the occupiers were trying to achieve at least 100 days of war the goals they hoped to achieve in the first days after February 24.” This was announced on Friday, May 27, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“They have concentrated maximum artillery, highest reserve in the Donbass. There are missile strikes and aviation – everything. We are defending our land in the way that the defense resources available today allow,” Zelensky said.
He stressed that Ukraine is doing everything to strengthen this resource, and expressed confidence that it can do so.
“If the occupiers think that Liman or Severodonetsk will be theirs, they are mistaken. Donbass will be Ukrainian. Because this is us, this is our essence. And even if Russia brings destruction and suffering everywhere, it will still be returned we have every city and every community. And there is and will not be any real alternative to our flags of Ukraine, “he added.
The President also said that he has now signed a decree awarding 27 servicemen of the Main Intelligence Directorate and 198 Ukrainian servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, four of them after death.
It will be recalled that Volodymyr Zelensky hoped that the war with Russia would end before the G-20 summit in Indonesia in the autumn and that “there would be no occupiers” here.
