This was announced today, June 7, on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
54 species of fish, 156 species of birds living on the islands of the archipelago will be under threat due to changes in the ecosystem.
It is noted that today a shallowing of 1.7 m has been recorded, the water has receded 17 m from the shore. The critical indicator is 8 m.
The archipelago “Floodplain Seven Mayakov” on the territory of NNP “Velikiy Lug” will become shallow by approximately 50% when the water level drops by 9 meters (complete shallowing will occur when the water level drops by 14 meters). 47 species of fish will disappear, there are risks for 137 species of fish, the ministry notes.
