Germany will supply Ukraine with another batch of BMP Marder

Rheinmetall plans to transfer 20 of these infantry fighting vehicles to Kyiv by the end of July this year.

The German company Rheinmetall is preparing a new batch of Marder infantry fighting vehicles for Ukraine. Local media RND reported this on Wednesday, June 7.

The company announced on Tuesday at its production site in Unterluss (Lower Saxony) that it had received orders from the Federal Ministry of Defense for 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles.

The combat vehicles will be sent to Ukraine at the end of July. Such a period may indicate that it is planned to send infantry fighting vehicles that do not need a long overhaul.


Marder (Marten) – created by German engineers in the late 1960s. BMP. It was produced until 1975. In total, more than two thousand such machines were produced.

The BMP Marder at that time surpassed all its contemporaries in the main security parameters and had high mobility. The machines also went through several stages of modernization.

It will be recalled that in March it was reported that Germany began the delivery of Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
