Lithuania is preparing for a possible increase in the number of refugees from Ukraine, the country’s foreign minister said.

Lithuanian Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite announced the country’s intention to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. LRT reported it.

“We understand that this is a very difficult situation, and we must do what we can to help our friends and brothers in Ukraine,” said Agne Bilotaite.

It is reported that Lithuania intends to transfer 30 tents, 240 beds and 50 thousand euros of financial aid to Ukraine, and is also preparing for a possible increase in the number of refugees from Ukraine.

Recall that on the night of June 6, the Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. As a result, the hydroelectric power plant was completely destroyed by the waves of the Kakhovka reservoir. Kherson OVA authorities have announced an immediate evacuation.
