President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this when answering questions from journalist Olga Kirilenko about the inadequate preparation of fortifications in and around Bakhmut, which the military complained about while journalists were working in the east.

However, Russian troops may build up groups at Bakhmut to regain control over lost positions around the city.
