Maxar Technologies has released new satellite images of southern Ukraine showing the scale of the disaster caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam.

The dam, holding approximately 18 billion cubic meters. m of water in the Kakhovka reservoir on the Dnieper, was blown up by the Russians on Tuesday night.
Judging by the new photographs, by the evening of June 6, the dam and the hydraulic structures located on it were almost completely flooded.
Satellite imagery includes over 2,500 sq. km of the area between Novaya Kakhovka and the mouth of the Dnieper at its confluence with the Black Sea.
The photographs show numerous settlements that have gone under water. In many houses, only roofs rise above the surface of the water.
