Member of the State Duma of Russia from the faction “United Russia” Konstantin Zatulin at the forum “What kind of Ukraine do we need?” in Moscow said that Russia during the war against Ukraine did not achieve the stated goals. Now the faction can punish him.

Zatulin said that the “special military operation” would be correct to call it a war from the very beginning.
In his opinion, the purpose of the war was to destroy Ukraine, but now Moscow does not have enough reason to believe that “the state of Ukraine and Ukraine in general as such, and some say that Ukrainians as such do not exist.”
When it comes to the logic of this special military operation, you understand that it consisted in the fact that, if I understand correctly, I did not read these plans, it consisted in the fact that rather quickly, after our forceful action, the Ukrainian state is falling apart. and without much sacrifice, it is possible to achieve what has not been achieved for 8 years, while trying to implement the Minsk agreements. Unfortunately, this plan fell through. He was simply unreal at his core. (…) So now we have to move on to another plan. He should be. And we, in essence, are moving to it on an ad hoc basis, we simply do not call it. What were our goals officially declared at the beginning of the military operation? You all remember: denazification, demilitarization, the neutrality of Ukraine and the protection of the inhabitants of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics who have been suffering all this time. On which of these items have we achieved results to date? Never. Moreover, some of them have ceased to have any meaning. For example, “neutrality of Ukraine”. What is the meaning of this requirement? None at the moment. It will not be more neutral if it remains in existence,” Zatulin said.
He is confident that Ukraine will remain “because the strength to overcome this, with the support that they (Ukrainians) receive, is not enough (in Russia – ed.).”
In his opinion, the Kremlin also understands this, which is why “Viktor Medvedchuk appeared again” in the media, because “it is necessary to offer for the Ukraine that will remain there.”
Zatulin wrote that at the forum he said that at present the goals of the “military special operation” have not been achieved.
