In Latvia, at the legislative level, the transfer of vehicles confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukrainian ownership was approved.

Latvia has handed over to Ukraine 66 cars confiscated by the police from drivers for drunk driving. On Sunday, June 4, referring to the State Insurance Agency of Latvia reported to Delfi.

“The number of cars confiscated by Latvia from drivers caught driving drunk and given to Ukraine free of charge has reached 66 units,” the newspaper wrote.

It should be noted that on March 7, 2023, the Saeima of Latvia unanimously supported amendments to the law on supporting the civilian population of Ukraine, which created the grounds for the transfer of vehicles confiscated from drunk drivers to owned by Ukraine.

It is known that the confiscated cars, in particular, have already received the Vinnytsia Regional Clinical Hospital and the territorial medical association of the Kupyansky Council, as well as army units of the Ministry of Defense.

Latvia will provide medical equipment worth nearly €300,000 to Ukraine

The Saeima of Latvia adopted in the final reading the law on the continuation of military service, which was repealed in 2004.
