In Bakhmut, Donetsk region, the situation is conditionally stable, the southwestern outskirts of the city remain under the control of the Ukrainian defense forces.
This was announced today, June 3, in her Telegram channel by Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar.
The Wagnerites have not completely left the city yet. They carry out instructor work with the arrived detachments of the regular army,” she noted.
According to Malyar, the enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts in the east in order to reach the borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
However, the enemy is unable to advance because of the powerful resistance of our defense forces. The situation is not significant, but somewhat changing, she stressed.
The deputy minister noted that for several months in a row the enemy was advancing in the east in four directions – Avdievsky, Maryinsky, Limansky and Bakhmutsky, later also periodically intensified in the Miners and Kupyansky directions.
During this time, the enemy did not manage to reach the borders of the Donetsk Luhansk region. The enemy has been depleted and is now replacing troops and regrouping,” Malyar noted.
According to her, the aggressor does not stop shelling and airstrikes in all directions, however
the geography of offensive actions is now somewhat different:
- on Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Shakhtyorsky, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations during the day. At the same time, on Bakhmutsky, the enemy tried to regain lost positions, but could not;
- in the other three directions – Kupyansky, Limansky and Maryinsky – the enemy is active and carries out rather intensive offensive operations, but to no avail.
