The protesters accused the current government of a pro-Russian course. According to Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, three people were detained.
In Tbilisi (Georgia), on the evening of June 2, an anti-government rally was held near the parliament. Its initiators were members of the Jiuti movement. This was reported by Novosti-Georgia.
It was noted that about a dozen protesters accused the current government of a pro-Russian course.
The confrontation between the police and the protesters lasted for several hours. The police mainly resisted the posters, which they considered offensive. From time to time they approached the steps of the parliament and chased the activists away.
Some of the inscriptions on the demonstrators’ posters were written in the old Georgian alphabet so that law enforcement agencies could not understand their content.
According to Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, three people were detained.
Today, June 3, a protest action is planned under the slogan Let’s protect freedom of expression.
Recall that earlier in Georgia they protested against the continuation of air traffic with the Russian Federation.
As reported, Georgia calls relations with the Russian Federation a “strategic policy of patience.”
