This was announced at a press conference in Oslo by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
NATO is providing unprecedented assistance. I am sure that Ukraine now has enough opportunities to liberate the occupied territories. But we need to do more,” the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance pointed out.
He stressed that NATO countries are developing a multi-year support package for Kyiv with significant funding.
This will provide Kyiv with long-term deterrence and defense, and help rebuild the security and defense sector as it transitions from Soviet-era doctrine, equipment and training to full NATO compatibility, Stoltenberg said.
According to him, during the meeting in Oslo, they also discussed raising the level of the NATO-Ukraine commission to the level of the NATO-Ukraine Council.
This will be a significant step that will help us create a common consultative forum with Ukraine. Ukraine will be even at the negotiating table. It will also help to discuss security issues,” the NATO Secretary General explained.
