The contract was concluded with the American company Global Military Products. The work will be carried out in Jordan.
The American company Global Military Products received a contract from the US Department of Defense for more than $118 million for the purchase and supply of Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns for Ukraine. This is stated in the message of the Pentagon.
“Global Military Products Inc, Tampa, Fla., has been awarded a $118,375,740 firm fixed-price contract to purchase and supply a Gepard 35mm anti-aircraft missile system,” the statement said.
Work will be performed in Amman, Jordan, with an estimated completion date of May 30, 2024. Funds for the project were allocated from “Foreign Military Sales (Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative) Funds for FY 2010”.
The Gepard is a German self-propelled anti-aircraft gun manufactured by Krauss-Maffei since the mid-1970s.
Remember, on May 31, the United States announced the allocation of a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $300 million. The next package includes ammunition for the HIMARS and Patriot systems, as well as other weapons.
President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the allies and stressed that US support for Ukraine is very important.
