The representatives recommended that law enforcement officials quickly respond to the disclosure of the facts of anti-Ukrainian propaganda by representatives of religious organizations.
The representatives of the Transcarpathian Regional Council decided to ban the activities of all religious organizations associated with Russia in the region. This was reported by the press service of the regional council on Thursday, June 1.
It is indicated that the representatives supported the relevant decision “On strengthening national security in the field of activities of public and religious organizations in the territory of the Transcarpathian region.”
“Prohibit the activities of religious, church, public and other organizations cooperating or associated with the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, on the territory of the Transcarpathian region,” the document said.
In banning the decision, the representatives added recommendations to law enforcement agencies to ensure a quick and effective response to recognizing the facts of anti-Ukrainian propaganda by representatives of religion, the public and other organizations.
In this regard, UNIAN informed that 47 of the 51 deputies present in the hall voted for the decision.
As specified in the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration, currently there are about 600 religious communities of the UOC-MP, about 100 communities of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and other Orthodox churches, 470 Greek Catholic communities in the region.
Recall that in May, the UOC-MP was banned in the Chernivtsi region. This decision was supported by 40 deputies of the local council of the region. In the past, such decisions were made in Volyn, Khmelnytsky, Rivne and some regions.
