Russia’s FSB detained two brothers in the Razdolnensky district of temporarily occupied Crimea for alleged involvement in the Crimean Tatar battalion named Noman Chelebidzhikhan. This was reported by the Crimean Human Rights Group.
Two brothers born in 1999 and 2000 were accused of allegedly joining the ranks of the Crimean Tatar battalion and performing duties of protecting objects located near the village of Chongar, Genichesk district of the Kherson region, said of human rights activists.
The brothers are prosecuted under the article Organization of an illegal armed formation or participation in it (208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
“The Crimean Tatars, whose names have not been named, were detained for two months. They face 15 years in prison,” the report added.
