It is necessary to solve the issue when there is no Ukrainian army or readiness, complained Alexander Lukashenko.
Russia and Belarus should resolve the “Ukraine issue” in 2014-2015. This was “the only mistake,” said on Thursday, June 1, the formal leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with participants in the 52nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of CIS Member States.
Lukashenko said he “totally agrees” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who says Moscow did not instigate the war in Ukraine.
“It didn’t start in 2014. It started before 2014. We saw everything that happened here: the “brown coup” that took place and what Ukraine led. We saw who was at the forefront. Perhaps our only The mistake was that we did not resolve this issue in 2014-2015, without the Ukrainian army or readiness,” Lukashenka said.
According to him, “everyone wants to somehow settle this peacefully.”
“And they (Ukrainians – ed.) during this time created a combat-ready armed forces,” he lamented and added that some former leaders of Western countries “honestly admitted that they did everything to prepare Ukraine for in the war with Russia.”
According to Lukashenka, the military-political situation around the CIS is getting worse
“And we have to understand that the big players around us – Russia, Belarus, the states of Central Asia – are slowly trying to stretch us. We must not allow this,” he said.
Earlier, Lukashenko said that Ukraine should “make peace” with Putin. In his opinion, “the West applauded the Ukrainian leader insincerely, even though Zelensky was supposedly pleased with it.”
Lukashenka also believes that Ukraine itself provoked Russia.
