The Commander-in-Chief believes that the Ukrainian side, together with Western partners, needs to strengthen air defense.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny had a telephone conversation with the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley. This was reported on Wednesday, May 31, on the Telegram page of the Commander-in-Chief.
It was noted that the generals discussed the situation at the front and further plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“He spoke about the situation at the front, the further plans of the Armed Forces to liberate the territory of Ukraine, and about the possible actions of the enemy,” shared Zaluzhny.
Zaluzhny said they separately discussed the issues of supplying weapons, military equipment and ammunition.
“Among our priority needs are long-range projectiles. I informed General Milli about the massive enemy attack using cruise and ballistic missiles, attack drones and guided bombs,” he said.
Zaluzhny also noted that the Ukrainian side, together with Western partners, needs to strengthen its air defense, as Russian attacks increase.
“It is important to work on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense through additional systems and F-16 fighters. We agreed to continue the dialogue,” Zaluzhny added.
It should be noted that the initial conversation between the Ukrainian commander-in-chief and Milli took place on May 19.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny raised expectations that a major military operation could be imminent, saying on social media: “The time has come for Ukraine to start the reclaiming itself.”
