There is a possibility that now not air-based, but sea-based missiles will be used.
The Russian military may be preparing a joint attack on Ukraine using drones and sea-based missiles. This was announced on Tuesday, May 30, by the head of the Joint Coordinating Press Center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalya Gumenyuk, on the air of the telethon.
He noted that the invaders continue to “obstinately maneuver” in the Black Sea and continue to move rocket carriers. On Tuesday afternoon, their number increased to four, in the afternoon one was brought to the base point. At 18:30, the total salvo of missiles could reach 16 (two underwater and one surface launch vehicle).
According to Gumenyuk, there is a possibility that now not air-based, but sea-based missiles will be used.
“They have not used naval launchers for a long time, and in all likelihood they are rigging that situation for future attacks,” he added.
He also did not rule out enemy aircraft activity. The representative of OK YUG recalled that the Russians are trying in every possible way to find out the air defense systems, bypass them and strike, so “you need to be ready for any development of events.” Gumenyuk explained that the invaders were using wave attacks and various types of weapons to expose Ukraine’s air defense systems.
“The first wave discovered where the air defense systems are working, for the second wave, which can directly hit the air defense systems. In addition, the use of both drones and missiles involves the use of countermeasures of a different plan : mobile fire groups, Anti-aircraft installations and various partner aids can work. This is what the enemy is interested in,” Gumenyuk said, recalling that it was impossible to film the work of air defense.
Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the attack on the airport in the Khmelnytsky region.
