On Tuesday afternoon, there was the biggest blackout since February, affecting nearly two million subscribers in 12 regions.
The massive temporary blackout in Ukraine, which occurred on Tuesday, May 30 afternoon, affected nearly two million subscribers. The reason is the desynchronization of the energy system, reported the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
It was noted that at about 13:00, an emergency situation occurred with the operator of the power transmission system due to the desynchronization of the power system. The result is emergency shutdown and temporary de-energization of subscribers.
Almost two million subscribers were simultaneously left without electricity in 12 regions – Vinnitsa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kiev and Kiev regions, as well as in Kirovograd, Nikolaev, Odessa, Poltava, Kharkiv, Khmelnitsky and Cherkassy regions .
The Energy Ministry said it was the largest number of simultaneously de-energized consumers since February. Today, however, this has not happened due to massive shelling or hitting the energy infrastructure.
It is also reported that currently, the generation fully covers the needs of consumers, there are no plans to cut subscribers.
Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that in Ukraine, power outages occurred in seven regions and Kyiv – due to shelling and worsening weather conditions. Ukrenergo launched an investigation into the massive power outages in Ukraine.
