The engineering work was carried out under the guise of agricultural work, the Azerbaijani military said.
The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan stated that the military personnel of the republic did not allow the continuation of the fortification work of the Armenian armed formations in Karabakh. This was reported on May 29 by the press service of the Azerbaijani department.
“Members of illegal Armenian armed formations on the territory of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, under the guise of agricultural work, tried to establish permanent fortifications in front of the army positions Azerbaijanis in the regions of Aghdam and Khojavend, as well as in the directions of Shusha, Lachin and Kalbajar,” the statement said.
The department stressed that engineering work has been halted as a result of “immediate measures.”
Remember, on May 25, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Yerevan and Baku have agreed on mutual recognition of the countries’ territorial integrity.
