Former footballer of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Tymoshchuk, who keeps silent about the Russian war and lives and works in St. Petersburg, decided to get a Romanian passport.

According to Footbal hub, upon receiving a passport of a citizen of Romania, Tymoshchuk stated that his grandmother was born in 1929 in Chernivtsi (at that time the city was part of this state).
The journalists talked with the ex-wife of the football player and his neighbors – everyone said that Anatoly did not have a Romanian grandmother.
But the assistant to the head coach of Zenit sent a package of documents to the Romanian migration service, in which the ex-Volhynian provides a pedigree and proves that he is a Bukovinian.
In January 2023, the National Security and Defense Council imposed personal sanctions against Tymoshchuk for 10 years: they froze assets, deprived him of all state awards, and denied entry. However, with a Romanian passport, Tymoshchuk can enter Ukraine, because the Romanian passport is not in the GNSU database.
By the way, the acquisition of citizenship of another state is the basis for deprivation of citizenship of Ukraine.
Earlier, the media wrote that Tymoshchuk, who does not notice the Russian war against Ukraine and works in the coaching staff of FC Zenit, financed by Gazprom, wants to return everything that the UAF deprived him of after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The former Volhynian hopes to return to the history of Ukrainian football, because of which he will be sued by the UAF in the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, journalist Igor Burbas reported in his Telegram channel.
Until now, Tymoshchuk has lost in previous courts and then stripped of titles and statistics as a player who has played more matches for the Ukrainian national team. In addition, Ukraine imposed sanctions on him. Consideration of the case in Lausanne for each of the parties, taking into account all the procedural stages, will cost approximately 100 thousand euros.
