An all-military briefing for fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has begun at the training grounds in Grafenvoor and Hohenfels.
The first group of about 400 Ukrainian soldiers began training on American Abrams M1 tanks in Germany. This is what Pentagon Speaker Lieutenant Colonel Garron Garn said, The New York Times reported on Saturday, May 27.
According to him, the combined-arms briefing started yesterday for approximately 200 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the training grounds in Grafenvoor and Hohenfels.
“This briefing includes basic soldier tasks such as precision shooting and medical skills, as well as drills at the platoon and company levels, and then larger exercises involving battalions opposing the each other,” Garn said.
At the same time, the remaining 200 Ukrainian military began training how to refuel and maintain Abrams tanks.
It is expected that the training of the Ukrainian military will last 10-12 weeks, and the Abrams tanks will appear on the front in Ukraine until the fall.
It will be remembered that in January, US President Joe Biden announced the transfer of Abrams tanks to Ukraine. We are talking about 31 units.
Immediately, the American media reported that Abrams tanks will be delivered to Ukraine only at the end of 2023 or even at the beginning of 2024.
